How to Change Your Grout Color

Want to change your Grout Color?

Are you just starting with a new project and you don’t like how the chosen grout color looks after it is all done? Terrible I Know! Or is your grout as old as you can’t even remember and it got stained or discolored?

Don’t worry you can still save the day!

Some time ago you had to remove the old grout and re-grout.

Now you can simply change your grout color. Amazing ah!

Here’s what you can do!

  1. You can use the same grout color you have to refresh your space look.

  2. Take advantage of the opportunity and darken its color (a good choice if it’s a high traffic area).

  3. Or completely change your grout color for a different and vibrant look. Here are a couple of simple steps to help you choose your perfect grout color.

It can be a tedious job but you will be pleased when you get your desired results!!

First, clean your grout lines. Be sure they are free of dirt, mold, mildew, or grease.

Fix any crack the grout may have.

What will you need?

  • Foam brush or any brush you prefer, as wide as the grout line.

  • Painter’s tape

  • Grout paint

  • Cloth to clean paint from tiles.

You can use the tape to cover tiles if you don’t have a steady hand. It will be faster unless you prefer to clean the tiles as you go.

Now let’s start painting!!

Use your foam brush to apply grout paint in grout lines.

Work in small sections at a time. Keep painting until all grout lines are cover.

Use manufacturer’s instructions to let it dry.

Apply another coat of paint if you want a darker grout color.

Viola!! You’re done.
